1000 Proverbs with Tom Jenks
The intention and expectation of the Proverb form twisted, reappropriated, and often just dumped on, 1000 proverbs is a rapid fire exchange in the realm of the absurd / wise.
Held on February 18th 2015 in Liverpool at the Fly in the Loaf, the Liverpool Camarade, part of the Enemies project (www.weareenemies.com), featuring 16 poets, some of the northwest's most exciting vanguardists, presenting brand new collaborations in pairs, written for the night. The event was being co-curated by the Wolf magazine.
Held on March 30th 2012 at the Cornerhouse in central Manchester, Enemies of the North, as part of the Enemies projectm (www.weareenemies.com) celebrated the resurgent north-west avant-garde poetry scene evidencing the width of poetic practice that defines the many contemporary poets who came together from across the region in 13 remarkable performances.
On October 26th 2013, at Toynbee studios, London, Penned in the Margins presented the launch of SJ Fowler's groundbreaking, multi-disciplinary collection Enemies; the result of collaborations with over thirty artists, photographers and writers -- each imbued with the energy, innovation and generosity of spirit that has become Fowler's calling card as a poet.
Held at the Hidden Door Festival in Edinburgh, March 2014, a unique installation art & performance festival in the previously abandoned Vaults of the city (http://hiddendoorblog.org/2014/02/24/s-j-fowler) this special edition Camarade event saw 18 poets reading original collaborations in 9 pairs.
